Make a Difference 2020

At H.B. Fuller, we are deeply committed to making a positive difference in our communities. For the 12th year in a row, we demonstrated this commitment to service through Make a Difference month.

The needs in communities around the world are as great as ever. Employees overcame pandemic-related restrictions and complications in their planning and execution of volunteer events, drawing on their creativity and innovation to pivot to virtual or distanced activities and ensure the safety and well-being of employees, volunteers, and community members.

Despite all the challenges, in 2020, employees in 15 countries donated more than 3,900 hours of service to their communities, positively affecting thousands of community members. Employees selected projects that connected with causes they are passionate about and addressed local community needs. This year’s 39 Make a Difference projects included outreach to those isolated due to COVID-19, support for communities affected by civil unrest, food drives, environmental restoration efforts, enrichment activities for children in need, and donations of school supplies, among many others.

Employees around the world voted and selected the project completed by employees in Rionegro, Colombia, as H.B. Fuller’s 2020 Outstanding Volunteer Project. More than 70 employees worked with two local charitable facilities that provide care for the elderly in the community. Employees collected personal care items, food, and cleaning supplies for residents and the facilities. They also donated a refrigerator. On Make a Difference day, employees delivered items to the elderly, shared a snack and sang songs for and with the residents. This outreach was very meaningful for the residents, many of whom had been isolated and without visitors due to COVID-19.

We are proud of the inspiring work done by our employees, who bring to life our commitment to giving back, and H.B. Fuller is proud to honor our 2020 Outstanding Volunteer Project with a donation to Centro de bienestar del Anciano San Juan de Dios to recognize our employees’ service and to further the great work of this nonprofit.
