A Grand Opening for H.B. Fuller in Guangzhou, China

In May 2023, H.B. Fuller celebrated the official opening of a brand-new technical center and expanded manufacturing facility with warehouse capabilities at the Yonghe campus located in the sub-district of Guangzhou, China. President and Chief Executive Officer Celeste Mastin visited the site along with members of H.B. Fuller’s Executive Committee. During the visit, Celeste reaffirmed the strategic importance of China within H.B. Fuller’s global strategy and reinforced the company’s commitment to better serve our customers in the ever-growing Asia Pacific region with innovative, sustainable, and high-performance adhesives.

Celeste also addressed a special word to the local team for their dedication and courage during the Covid-19 successive lockdowns, particularly in China. Celeste reinforced the role that the team played in helping our customers overcome their challenges. “My heartfelt thanks to the employees in Guangzhou that stayed at our plant around the clock to make sure our customers had material to make important goods, in the midst of a frightening pandemic", said Celeste Mastin. 

 

TeamH.B. Fuller started construction of this expansion in March 2021, during the pandemic, with the work culminating in the last quarter of 2022. With the 10,000 square meter land expansion, H.B. Fuller now has a 2,800 square meter technical center, additional adhesive manufacturing lines, and a two-story warehouse with enhanced capacity. The expanded site employs nearly 300 employees, who continuously contribute to the Asia Pacific dynamic geography, connecting what matters to our customers, and supporting H.B. Fuller’s Hygiene, Health, and Consumable Adhesives and Engineering Adhesives global business units.

Supported by a strong team of scientists and technical service experts, the new technical center is positioned to support product development, analysis, and application testing for H.B. Fuller’s wide range of adhesive technologies currently available in the Asia Pacific region. The manufacturing additions will enable expanded acrylic polymerization, hot melt, and water-based adhesive formulation capabilities to serve a broader market assortment and help diversify our Asia Pacific adhesive portfolio. With a strong focus on innovation and improved R&D capabilities, H.B. Fuller will accelerate business growth in core industries like hygiene, packaging, medical, automotive, woodworking, industrial assembly, and consumer electronics.
