No Added Formaldehyde (NAF)
Formaldehyde is a colorless gas associated with significant health risks, including short-term irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat, and long-term exposure linked to an increased risk of certain cancers, such as nasopharyngeal cancer and leukemia. Recognized as a human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), many countries have established formaldehyde emission regulations to protect public health and the environment. These regulations, including TSCA Title VI and CARB in the U.S., REACH in the European Union, JIS/JAS in Japan, GB 18580-2017 in China, KS M ISO 12460-5 in South Korea, and AS/NZS 1859.1 in Australia and New Zealand, apply to various manufacturers and their products, including wood-based materials, textiles, and construction materials.
In response, H.B. Fuller is committed to helping our customers uphold the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility with our No Intentionally Added Formaldehyde (NAF) products.
