Setting the Standard in Emergency Response Uniforms

Posted 26 Jul 2018 by Pierre-Yves JAUBARD, Business Development Manager Textile & Flexel

According to the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), there are over 360,000 total nationally-certified EMS personnel in the United States. These healthcare professionals respond to an estimated 37 million emergency calls every year, according to Medical News Bulletin. Furthermore, there are over two million total military personnel in the United States.

Additionally, recent research indicates that he number of requests to PEMS (pre-hospital emergency medical services) has increased in Europe over the last 20 years.

That’s a lot of emergency response personnel, calls, and uniforms that are needed, which is where organizations like H.B. Fuller come into play.

Recognizing the need to keep upwards of several million individuals protected while in uniform, we created adhesives designed specifically to make the fabrics functional.

HMMC Adhesive Design

We are proud to supply products and services to the healthcare industry through our hot melt moisture cure (HMMC) adhesives used to laminate membranes onto fabrics. The results are functional fabrics that are:

  • wind proof

  • water repellent

  • breathable

  • visible / reflective

  • fire retardant

  • Light

Furthermore, the HMMC adhesive design allows for a breathable membrane that keeps the performance needs in mind, including:

  • strong elasticity

  • ability to endure repeated wash and dry cycles

  • low adhesive weight that enables an overall soft feel and a high breathability

Protecting What Matters Most
