Brett Marin chooses HS Butyl’s tapes because the quality – the company insists on using Class A products in its roofing systems and HS Butyl’s roofing tapes are third party certified by a UKAS accredited laboratory and verified as providing Class A performance by National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC).

Membrane

Butyl tapes offer a superior barrier against water and air, making them ideal for sealing lap joints on most membranes.

The A. Proctor Group uses butyl tape to ensure that its membrane systems achieve optimum performance on site. HS Butyl developed two proprietary tapes for use with the company’s Vapor Control Layers and gas protection membranes:

–Probond Tape is an extruded butyl tape manufactured for sealing overlaps in vapor control layers. It provides a vapor tight and airtight seal.

–Protech GM Tape is used specifically to seal joins in gas membranes to ensure continuous gas resistant seal.

To ensure their systems can meet the strict requirements of Building Regulations, The A. Proctor Group only supply the best quality tape.

Wet Rooms

Butyl tapes offer a simple solution for sealing joints in wet rooms – they ensure that the joints between floor and walls, as well as around drains and outlets, remain watertight and leak-free.

The UK’s leading provider of waterproofing and insulation solutions, only trusts HS Butyl tape in its market leading wet room kits designed to offer a quick, easy and straightforward option for contractors to quickly make a wet room watertight:

–Fleeceband 0318 tape is used for sealing around the drain. It is laminated with a non-woven polyester fleece backing that is perfect for wet rooms since it adheres to every common bathroom substrate including painted surfaces and sealants.

Precast Concrete

Butyl tapes provide high strength, permanent watertight seals on primed concrete surfaces and concrete structure joints.

For their concrete water pipes, W M Donald, one of Scotland’s leading Civil Engineering Contractors, relies on one of HS Butyl’s unique watertight tapes to provide joints that are not only water-tight and long-lasting, but also able to withstand compression under the most stringent conditions:

–0421 butyl tape is used to ensure that the joints on their pipework and culverts are totally dependable. 0421 is a preformed butyl tape that is designed to create a permanent flexible seal for in accordance with BS EN 1917.

W M Donald only trusts HS Butyl to develop their butyl tapes, as it is vital that seal between pipes, culverts and chamber ring sections are leak-free.

HVAC

Due to its easy application, durability, and ability to accommodate significant joint movement, butyl tapes are widely used in various HVAC applications – including joints between sections of flanged ductwork, air handling unit panels, builders work openings and other joint sealing applications.

The UK’s largest manufacturer and distributor of HVAC systems, Lindab, only recommends the use of HS Butyl tapes for forming permanent air and weather tight joints in ductwork:

–0303 butyl tape is used for sealing duct flanges – double-sided for rectangular ducting, single-sided for circular. It is used to prevent air, dust or water escape in compression joints and seams in the HVAC systems.

Water Tanks

A leak-free seal is essential when constructing water tanks – our butyl tapes are WRAS-approved and meet the Water Supply Regulations to ensure a compliant, durable installation with leak-proof joints.

Balmoral Tanks, the UK’s primary water tank design and manufacture company uses bespoke, WRAS-approved tapes to seal its range of potable water tanks:
