2026 Customer Innovation Award Winners

The 2026 H.B. Fuller Customer Innovation Award recipients—Huhtamaki and Bin Dasmal General Trading Co.—are being recognized for innovations that address emerging needs across sustainable packaging and critical infrastructure. From reimagining how to reduce plastic in food packaging to simplifying how critical infrastructure is protected and installed, this year’s recipients demonstrate how forward-thinking ideas can turn complex industry challenges into practical, real-world solutions. 

Huhtamaki - Reducing plastic with recyclable paper-based dairy packaging

Advancing the future of sustainable packaging, Huhtamaki created ProDairy, an innovative recyclable paper-based dairy cup that significantly reduces polyethylene content (from 2PE to single poly-coating) and provides a high moisture barrier for products stored in chilled conditions.

Working with H.B. Fuller, Huhtamaki leveraged a high-performance varnish to eliminate the need for an external PE layer while protecting against moisture and abrasion. The commercially scalable solution helps dairy producers reduce plastic use, improve recyclability and advance circular packaging goals without compromising performance.

Bin Dasmal General Trading Co. - Simplifying HVAC insulation installation

Bin Dasmal General Trading Co. saw an opportunity to challenge a complex, multi-step approach to HVAC insulation installation and make it simpler. By assembling the protective insulation before it reaches the jobsite, Bin Dasmal created a ready-to-install solution that reduces the number of materials and steps required on site.

Developed in collaboration with H.B. Fuller, the scalable solution reduces installation time, labor and material complexity while improving consistency and long-term system reliability, making adoption easier for builders and contractors across the region.

The solution was first deployed during the refurbishment of Dubai Hills Mall, demonstrating its potential to extend HVAC performance while reducing maintenance, material waste and disruption for building owners.
