NEW pH-Driven Aqueous Dispersion Polymer

Catch the Wave of Innovation in Nonwovens dissolution.

Now create a nonwoven where the dissolution of the polymer is controlled by pH.

There is growing and intense need in the nonwoven industry to develop nonwoven fabrics that degrade once disposed. H.B. Fuller has developed a series of novel, patent-pending pH-driven chemistries that address this increasing need. The polymers are aqueous, user-friendly compositions with no noxious emissions. Articles produced from these compositions will go through dissolution when the pH of the environment changes.

  • Dried/cured polymer film integrity is compromised but does not readily disintegrate when combined with 0.9% aqueous solution NaCl
  • Aqueous polymer can be applied to a substrate through saturation, gravure/curtain/reverse roll coating or spraying
  • The suggested environment for curing provides enough heat and turbulent air flow to allow the substrate to reach 130-150C
  • Polymer does not contain any phthalates or heavy metals
  • Polymer is both APEO and formaldehyde-free
  • Polymer is free of any Substances of Very High Concern
  • Polymer is experimental and has a patent-pending status
  • R&D quantities are available upon approval
