Employees donate nearly 6,500 hours of service during Make a Difference month
Giving back is core to H.B. Fuller’s identity, and corporate social responsibility is one of our company values. In 2015, for the seventh year in a row, we demonstrated our commitment to service through Make a Difference month. This year, over 1,000 employees across 18 countries donated nearly 6,500 hours of service to their communities, positively impacting more than 5,000 lives. Employees selected projects that reflected their passions and addressed the needs of their communities. Projects focused on issues including hunger, education, the environment, housing, health, and cultural exchanges, and reflect the strong sense of corporate citizenship that we value.
Two of this year’s outstanding projects were carried out by employees in Lüneburg and Nienburg, Germany; both projects focused on the urgent international refugee crisis. Lüneburg employees donated office furniture to a new Welcome and Learning Center. This space can be used by refugees to learn the language, continue their studies, begin researching employment opportunities and build connections in their new community. In Nienburg, employees partnered with a local youth group and organized a day of cultural exchanges. Young refugees shared their experiences in Syria and talked about their journey to Germany, and together, all the young people prepared both traditional German and Syrian foods, building a sense of community and connection.
We are proud of the extraordinary work done by our employees around the world who came together this year to make a positive impact in the communities where we live and work. We realize that it is our combined efforts to bring about social good that make H.B. Fuller a company that truly cares. To follow along with H.B.
