We recently hosted our Wave of Innovation Full-Care™ Technology Tour at our headquarters on Oct. 25 during a break in the 2011 Insight Conference. It was a great opportunity to meet with approximately 90 attendees, and for some it was their first time seeing our R&D facility up close and personal.
CEO Jim Owens kicked off the event with a warm welcome and preview of the exciting advancements H.B. Fuller has developed for the nonwovens market. He explained how our nonwovens team, with more than 100 years of experience, is collaborating with customers to achieve their goals of using creativity and design to make consumers’ lives more comfortable. He also described the investments H.B. Fuller has made in people and facilities around the world, including India, Egypt, Argentina and Guangzhou, China.
After the presentation, attendees toured our R&D where they learned more about our history of adhesive innovations. They saw a humidity resistant wetness indicator, examined feedstock friendly advanced olefins, explored Padlock™ technology to make cores thinner, and experienced the rapid prototyping capabilities of the H.B. Fuller coater lab.
A special station featured a demonstration of Liquamelt®, our new adhesive and equipment system for case and carton packaging. Formulated with 40% sustainable raw materials, Liquamelt has potential for greater than 50% adhesive mileage improvement and a cool on delivery – hot on demand processing technology that results in lower energy costs, no char operation, easy clean up, and a safer work environment. This revolutionary system is currently available for the packaging market and will be expanded to other hot melt markets soon.
Attendees left with a strong sense of H.B. Fuller’s focus on innovation. If you weren’t able to attend the tour but would like to learn more about our nonwoven adhesive technologies, visit the Wave of Innovation Full-Care™ Technology Tour Highlights, or feel free contact us for more information.
