Next Generation Flextra Fast™ Laminating Adhesive Debuts at PACK EXPO 2011

Catch H.B. Fuller’s new wave of innovative flexible packaging adhesives at PACK EXPO. At the show that begins in just a few days, we will introduce the next generation of our Flextra Fast™ laminating adhesives – Flextra Fast™ SFA 8600/XR 1500 – one of the fastest curing in the industry.

Designed for high performance processes ranging from snack pouches to difficult boil-in-bag applications, this next generation Flextra Fast™ laminating adhesive formulation delivers excellent appearance and adhesion to many substrates such as foil, nylon and high slip sealants. Flextra Fast™ SFA 8600/XR 1500 allows converters to laminate as fast as 1,700 feet per minute, slit in as few as three hours, provide PAA decay in as little as two days and fill and ship with finished goods/food in as few as two days.

To give our converting customers higher assurance of food safety, we developed this laminating adhesive using a newer, more precise High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) method for detecting PAA. Now converters can begin secondary processing in a matter of hours and safely fill on even the toughest substrates in as little as two days.

Put H.B. Fuller Flextra Fast™ SFA 8600/XR 1500 or other Flextra™ formulations to the test on H.B. Fuller’s full production-scale Nordmeccanica® Super Combi 3000 laminator at our pilot facility in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Nordmeccanica laminator can run trials of solvent-based, solvent-free and water-based laminating adhesives, offers primary and secondary in-line corona treatment and produces cured laminated rolls as wide as 52 inches.
