January 26, 2012

Hall: 9
Stand number: B78

H.B. Fuller will be showcasing key solutions from its range of packaging adhesives and solutions at IPACK-IMA 2012. The exhibition will take place from 28th February until 3rd March in Milan, Italy.

H.B. Fuller offers adhesive solutions suitable for applications in the packaging chain, including carton sealing, labelling and flexible packaging. Flagship products on display at IPACK-IMA will include new revolutionary Advantra Encore™ adhesive, Advantra® hot melt packaging adhesives,  Liquiloc® labelling adhesives and the notable Adalis™ Open-Sesame® system.

As an industry-leading adhesive formulator, H.B. Fuller goes to great lengths to gain a comprehensive understanding of its customers' evolving business needs and challenges. Meeting these challenges has led H.B. Fuller to create a new wave of innovative adhesive solutions that will enable new packaging applications.

Elizabeth Staab, Marketing Manager at H.B. Fuller, commented: “IPACK-IMA is an important event for us this year. We are committed to developing innovative solutions that really meet customer needs, and the event will provide us and customers with a unique opportunity to explore many of these innovative product offerings together in person.”

On its 40m2 stand B78 in hall nine at the exhibition, H.B. Fuller will be showcasing a new wave of innovative packaging solutions.

Advantra Encore™ adhesive stems from a new custom designed, proprietary technology platform that transforms hot melt performance. This unique technology hot melt solution offers superior performance with 20-50% higher mileage, better bonding, and broader service temperature range than traditional packaging hot melt technologies including metallocene-based and EVA.

Advantra® adhesives
are H.B. Fuller’s flagship range of advanced, innovative hot melt adhesives for all package sealing applications. These reliable products are based on unique patented polymer technology, ensuring clean application, superior bonding and increased mileage versus traditional hot melt EVA adhesive products. Overall adhesive related costs can be reduced by as much as 15-30%. Within the Advantra® adhesive family are products for many applications including case and carton sealing, tray forming and multi-wall and speciality bags. Even at extremely high or low temperatures, the Advantra® line offers the sealing advantage needed.

Adalis™ Open-Sesame® system
is a retail packaging opening system that allows shipping containers to be used as attractive displays and easily opened at point of display, enabling consistent brand messaging and shortening shelf re-stocking time. Shipper boxes manufactured with the Open-Sesame® system have a clean-tearing feature that enables retailers to create a display-ready tray with a reinforced edge in a matter of seconds, without using box knives. The Open-Sesame® system is a sustainable option using less board and maintaining compression strength versus traditional shipper boxes, resulting in better stackability and greater efficiencies in logistics and transportation.

Liquiloc® PWL-5090 is a premium wet labelling adhesive
developed for use on many types of returnable and one-way glass bottles. It offers excellent condensation and ice water resistance for numerous types of beverage bottles including beer, mineral water, wine and other spirits. The adhesive’s superior machining, easy cleaning and very good wash-off properties make it a top choice for customers.

Liquiloc® PWL-5066 is a first-rate wet labelling adhesive
developed specifically for use on untreated HDPE plastic bottles. It eliminates the need for flame treatment prior to use and has a unique optimised polymer formulation. The proprietary polymer developed by H.B. Fuller creates a strong adhesion to untreated plastic, glass and cans providing superb labelling adhesion on many hard to bond surfaces. In addition Liquiloc® PWL-5066 adhesive is approved for the application of the Italian liquor tax stamp.

H.B. Fuller will also be exhibiting its adhesives for flexible packaging; Flextra® solventless and solvented laminating adhesives, and Lunamelt® hot melt heat seal products, both delivering targeted performance for the growing flexible packaging market worldwide. As flexible packaging converters continue to seek adhesives to help reduce packaging materials, lower shipping costs and address environmental concerns, H.B. Fuller’s enhanced portfolio and broad knowledge in complex performance applications such as recloseable packaging, will help converters better address the market’s evolving needs.

Elizabeth Staab continued: “As our customers seek improved efficiencies in their packaging production lines, we provide support by lowering both cost and complications within the process, using superior products that deliver great performance to improve our customers’ business processes, efficiencies and results. We’re looking forward to IPACK-IMA and to demonstrating how the selection of the right adhesive is an essential part of creative packaging solutions.”
