Bulk Box Laminating
The manufacture of bulk bins typically involves bonding two or more layers of corrugated paperboard together. Bulk bins are typically used to package bulk materials like chemicals and produce. H.B. Fuller offers adhesives for both extrusion and roll coating. Our fast-setting water based products offer excellent wet tack to hold multiple layers of corrugated in place as the box undergoes compression. We also have products to improve the water resistance of the finished bulk box. Single Face Laminating
Single face laminating is the process of bonding a litho label or preprinted sheet to the flutes of single face corrugated. A water based synthetic resin adhesive is used for this application. The adhesive is applied to the flute tips of the corrugated paperboard by a roller application system. The containers have higher quality graphics and produce a higher value container. We have excellent water-based products with high wet tack and fast setting capabilities for this application. Other adhesives are optimized for use on foaming equipment. They improve mileage and contribute to a smooth, high-quality finish by exposing the corrugated surface to less water, thereby reducing the risk of washboarding. Lay Flat Litho Laminating
This application produces a corrugated case similar to that in single face laminating. In this application, a litho label is bonded to a corrugated board rather than flute tips. Critical performance characteristics are to minimize board warp with no wrinkles or blisters. High solids dextrine based adhesives with a slow speed of set are typically used. H.B. Fuller offers water-based dextrin adhesives with the long open time necessary for wrinkle-free lay flat laminating. Solid Board Laminating
