Fuller’s Nonwoven customer base is dominated by several large, international companies that require adhesives that are flexible and nonirritating to skin, functional at high manufacturing speeds, and economical to use. Hot melt adhesives are utilized for disposable diapers, sanitary pads, and adult incontinence garments.
Water-based and hot melt adhesives are used in disposable medical garments.
Recent Nonwoven developments include the following innovations:
• New technology for elastic attachment adhesives offers improved performance while allowing the customer to use less product.
• Next generation adhesives are used for on-line hook tab lamination and attachment.
• Hydrolock™, a super absorbent hot melt unlike anything now used by the industry. A spray applyable hot melt, Hydrolock adhesive can be applied in patterns, stripes, and in any specific area where extra absorbency may be needed.
• New coating/laminating technologies are under development and nearing commercialization.
