Benefits Overview

H.B. Fuller is an equal opportunity employer, providing a wide array of competitive benefits to recruit and retain excellent employees.

FlexPlus: Our U.S. Benefits Program

FlexPlus is a benefits program available to all regular, full-time, non-union employees in the U.S. (Benefit plans outside the U.S. vary on a regional basis.) A flexible plan providing benefits such as life insurance, personal accident insurance, and short- and long-term disability, FlexPlus provides basic and optional benefits. With FlexPlus, you are provided an annual flex credit that appears on your check as additional income to help you pay for your portion of the benefit cost.

Following are some of the highlights of the FlexPlus program.

Medical Benefits

FlexPlus offers several medical plan options. Coverage is effective 30 days after employment, and the majority of the insurance premium is paid by the company. Depending on where you live, you can choose between the Aetna Open Choice Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). If you do not have the PPO or HMO option available, you can enroll in the Traditional Indemnity plan. A prescription drug plan is included in medical plan coverage.

PPO Dental Plan

The PPO Dental Plan allows you the freedom to choose your dentist or orthodontist. Although the plan pays the same percent for PPO and non-PPO providers, you can take advantage of added features when you obtain care from a PPO dentist or orthodontist. These features include discounts on dental services, no claims to file, and lower out-of-pocket expenses. The plan pays 100 percent for preventative care, and 80 percent of most other dental expenses after the annual deductible has been met.

Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts

FlexPlus offers you tax-savings opportunities through two Flexible Spending Accounts. If you choose to participate, you can contribute to one account, or both, depending on your needs.

• Health Care Account
The health care account is used to reimburse you for eligible expenses for yourself and your dependents. These expenses include out-of-pocket medical, dental and vision deductibles, co-payments, coinsurance and services not covered by your medical or dental plans.

• Dependent Care Account
The dependent care account is used to reimburse eligible expenses for your dependents. To qualify for reimbursement, the expenses must be incurred to enable you - and your spouse, if you are married - to work. Eligible expenses include care for your children under age 13 and disabled adults of any age who are incapable of self-support, but not health care expenses for dependents. Examples of eligible expenses include home day care, day care center, and some educational institution expenses.

Tax Savings

The health care and dependent care accounts give you the opportunity to reimburse yourself for IRS eligible expenses with pre-tax dollars. Because you set the money aside before federal income and Social Security taxes are withheld, you reduce your taxable income.

Long-Term Care

FlexPlus offers you and certain members of your family the opportunity to purchase Long Term Care coverage through CNA. Long Term Care coverage can help with the high cost of care as a result of a long-term illness or disability. Long-term care includes nursing home care, as well as services provided at home or within the community
